Workers who are hurt while doing construction work might not think that a personal injury lawsuit against their employer or a third party is the best way to recover, out of fear of retaliation. However, a personal injury lawsuit is often the only way for them to begin to recover whether they like it or not. The expert personal injury attorneys and construction work site accident lawyer specialist here at our Boston, Massachusetts law firm have decades of experience guiding our clients through the complicated lawsuit process involved in these types of cases.
A man was crushed to death Wednesday morning at a construction site for an apartment complex in the southeast corner of Austin, Texas when a concrete slab weighing 30,000 to 40,000 pounds fell on him. Emergency crews responded shortly after 9:00 am to reports of a man trapped under a slab just inside a fenced-off site at Wickersham Lane and Cromwell Circle. Rescuers initially were unable to get to the victim, who was pinned under the slab as it leaned against a tractor-trailer sitting under a crane. Firefighters, with the use of sledgehammers, drills and other tools, were able to cut away at the slab and free the man, but when they finally reached him, he was already dead.
